1. Who we are
santafewaterheater.com is an independent website that helps homeowners in Santa Fe and northern New Mexico reach local plumbers and water heater technicians. It is a referral service and nothing more: the site does not carry out water heater and plumbing work of its own, and every professional you are put in touch with is a separate, independent business that this site does not employ and does not control.
This page explains, in plain terms, what information passes through the site, who ends up with it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
2. What information is collected
Telephone calls
The number shown throughout santafewaterheater.com is a tracking number rather than a direct line. Dialing it routes your call to a plumber covering your area.
The provider who picks up therefore receives your calling number, along with anything you say during the conversation: typically your name, the address where the work is needed, and what you want done. Separately, a technical call record is generated (originating number, date, time, duration, and the page or number that produced the call) so that calls can be routed and accounted for.
Website usage
Like most websites, santafewaterheater.com records basic technical information about visits: your IP address and the rough location it suggests, your browser and device type, the pages you open, the links you click, and the site that referred you.
This is collected with Microsoft Clarity, an analytics tool that also offers session replay. Session replay means a reconstruction of scrolling, mouse movement and clicks on a page can be reviewed afterwards to understand how the page is being used. It is not a recording of your screen or of anything outside this site.
What is never asked for
There is no contact form, no newsletter sign-up, no user account and no checkout anywhere on santafewaterheater.com. You are never asked to type your name, your email address, your postal address or any payment details into this site, and no payment is ever processed here. If you want to reach us in writing, you use your own email client to write to contact@santafewaterheater.com, which means we receive only what you choose to send.
3. How the information is used
Information is used to connect your call with a provider, to see which pages are useful and which are not, to keep the site available and free of abuse, and to answer messages sent to contact@santafewaterheater.com.
One point deserves to be stated plainly rather than glossed over. Connecting your call means passing that call, and the number it came from, to an independent business, and this site is paid a fee by that business for the connection. Under some state privacy laws a transfer of that kind can be treated as a sale or a share of personal information. We would rather describe it accurately than claim it never happens. Outside of that connection we do not sell contact details to anyone, and we do not build advertising profiles from what is collected here.
4. Who it is shared with
Information is shared in three situations, and no others.
- The provider your call reaches. An independent business serving your area, which receives your calling number and whatever you say on the call.
- Technical suppliers that make the site work. Web hosting is provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Audience measurement is provided by Microsoft Clarity. The telephone platform that operates the tracking number carries and records the call. Each of these handles data on our behalf under its own terms.
- Where the law requires it. A valid legal request, a regulatory obligation, or the defense of a legal claim.
There is no data broker in this chain, and nothing collected on santafewaterheater.com is passed to advertising networks.
5. Cookies and analytics
The only cookies this site depends on are the analytics cookies set by Microsoft Clarity. There is no advertising cookie, no retargeting pixel and no social network tracker on santafewaterheater.com.
You can refuse or delete these cookies in your browser settings, browse in a private window, or enable a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. Blocking them costs you nothing: every page of this site works exactly the same way without them. Microsoft publishes its own privacy statement covering Clarity, and Clarity offers an opt-out of its own.
6. Your privacy rights
Your rights depend on where you live, but you can ask us for the same things whatever your state.
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA: the right to know what personal information has been collected about them, the right to have it deleted, the right to have it corrected, the right to opt out of its sale or sharing, and the right not to be treated worse for exercising any of those rights. Comparable laws are in force in a growing number of other states, among them Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia and New Jersey.
How to make a request
Write to contact@santafewaterheater.com from the address you want us to answer. Tell us what you want (to know, to delete, to correct, to opt out), and give us enough to find the record: the telephone number you called from and roughly when you called. We reply within 45 days, and we will tell you if we need longer.
We may have to ask you for one extra detail to be sure we are not handing your information to somebody else. You can use an authorized agent, in which case we will ask for proof of the authority. If we turn a request down, we will tell you why.
What we can and cannot delete
We can delete what this site holds. We cannot delete what an independent provider holds after speaking with you, because their records are theirs. If that is what you want removed, ask that business directly. Tell us and we will identify them for you where we can, and pass your request on.
7. Children
This site is for adults arranging work on a property. It is not aimed at children, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and nothing here is designed to appeal to them. If you believe a child has been in contact with us, write to contact@santafewaterheater.com and whatever we hold will be deleted.
8. Calls, texts and the TCPA
Every call handled through this site is a call you place. This site runs no outbound telemarketing, uses no automatic telephone dialing system, and sends no marketing text messages.
The provider your call reaches may call or text you back about the request you made. If you would rather they did not, say so on the call, or tell them in writing, and they are required to stop. If you ever receive a call that you believe was made in the name of santafewaterheater.com, send the date and the number to contact@santafewaterheater.com and it will be looked into.
9. How long it is kept, and how it is protected
Call records and audience data are kept for as long as they are useful for routing, billing and audit, then deleted or reduced to anonymous statistics. Nothing sensitive is held here: this site stores no password, no financial detail, no identity document and no health information.
Reasonable technical measures protect what is held, including encrypted connections across the whole site. No system on the internet is perfectly secure, and this page does not pretend otherwise.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version replaces this one on this page and the date at the top changes with it. Continuing to use santafewaterheater.com after that date means the current version applies.
11. Contact
Questions, complaints and privacy requests all go to one address:
contact@santafewaterheater.com
That address is read, and messages are answered. If your complaint concerns work done by a provider you were connected with, include the date of the call and what happened. We will look into it, pass it on, and we can stop sending calls to a business when a complaint proves well founded.
